Mowa Haile – President & Chief Executive Officer
Mowa Haile is responsible for articulating the vision for the company and leads the implementation of the company's short and long-term goals. He works closely with the team in monitoring the daily operations of the company and focus on strategic, tactical, and operations management and improvement. Mowa has an integral role in creating and developing customer relationships that deliver the company's products/services. Mowa founded the company in 2007 and has guided the company from a two-man team and $80K in revenue to performing large projects for Fortune 500 companies and government agencies. Haile has over 15 years of operations and real estate experience.

Mowa holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Colorado State University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. Mowa serves on the Board of Directors at Venture Prep, a free, rigorous, public charter school in Denver whose mission is to prepare all 6-12th grade students for college and career success. Mowa is on the Small Business Advisory Board for Denver Metro SBDC and the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Mowa serves on the City of Denver’s Division of Small Business Opportunity Advisory Committee and Heavy Highway Goals Committee.

Joe Sewell – Vice President of Land Development and Finance
Joe Sewell is responsible for financial planning, reporting and record keeping for the company. Joe is experienced in real estate and land development construction and was the V.P. of Land Acquisitions for DR Horton for over 5 years. Joe has been involved in the purchase and construction of thousands of lots throughout Denver’s Front Range from Ft. Collins to Colorado Springs. Prior to working in Acquisitions Joe was the Land Development Manager for DR Horton for 4 years before moving into acquisitions. Joe also spent 5 years at Writer Homes (currently Standard Pacific) as their Development Manager. His strengths include contract negotiations, financial operations, construction observation, and quality control, municipal coordination and has developed excellent relationships with trades and municipalities across Colorado.

Joe received his B.A. in Social Sciences from the University of California at Irvine and was a pitcher for the Houston Astros from 1991 to 1994. Joe volunteers his time to coach youth baseball, soccer and football.

Matt Collitt – Vice President of Preconstruction
Matt Collitt is experienced in land development, residential and commercial construction. During his 15 years in the industry he has developed over 10,000 lots and over 1,000 structures. Consequently, Matt fully understands the entire construction process; from breaking ground to completion, and can manage projects ranging from hundreds of dollars to millions of dollars. Matt’s skills include construction planning, safety, scheduling, quality control, cost control, and municipal coordination. Matt is skilled at supervising diverse personnel and has developed excellent relationships with trade partners and municipal authorities.

Matt received his Bachelor of Science in Site Planning and Development from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire. Matt is a Board Member & Treasurer of the Louviers Water and Sanitation District in the Village of Louviers.

 

Lauren Balsley – Chief Marketing Officer
Lauren Balsley is responsible for all aspects of marketing and sales for Sky Blue Builders. Prior to joining the Sky Blue Builders team, Lauren worked for TerraVisions in a duel role as Marketing Director and Project Manager. As Project Manager, Lauren compiled and researched due diligence materials and facilitated the entitlement process for 3 Master Planned Communities. As Marketing Director, her role was to compile and assemble marketing collateral for the entire land portfolio for potential investors and buyers. Prior to joining the TerraVisions, Lauren worked for the City and County of Charlotte, North Carolina in the Planning Department and at the Charlotte Department of Transportation.

Lauren has extensive knowledge in the urban planning field and has obtained a dual Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning and Urban Design from the University of Colorado. Lauren is a Board Member of the SAME Pikes Post, serves on the Public Affairs/Community Relations Committee for the Hispanic Contractors of Colorado and is active with several goodwill programs.

Bill McCombie P.E. – V.P. - Engineering & Project Management
Bill McCombie is responsible for quality of design, cost effectiveness, project coordination with public and municipal entities, and project completion through construction coordination. Before joining Sky Blue Builders, Bill McCombie was President of JeHN Engineering and responsible for oversight of multiple projects, with several teams of engineers and architects, obtaining approval from the various local, state and federal agencies with a history of on time delivery and within budget. Prior to JeHN Engineering Bill worked for Greiner and was resident engineer at Denver International Airport for three years and oversaw successful completion of $50 million of infrastructure and five buildings.

Bill received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from University of Wisconsin at Platteville. Bill served on the Finance Committee of his local church and was the President of the Green Mountain Swim Club and currently volunteers at the Jeffco Action Center.
